Not all old software fades away. In the corners of the internet you will find all sorts of goodies that were once commercial, and are now free. BitMorph 3.0 may be a tad old [1999] but it’s still worth a look. This morphing technology was cutting edge back in its day, and is still jolly good fun now.

The morphing process is more time-consuming than the warp, but the results are worth it. All you need to do is take two bitmap images of the same dimensions, draw vectors around the features of each image to map out the morphing pattern, click the magic button and it’s done. BitMorph uses the Windows Bitmap format, for it’s input and output images.

Warping images provides a more straightforward way to alter an image – we enjoyed stretching our colleague’s chin down to his chest, and giving him two eyes on his forehead. As you can see from the image, the possibilities for different warp shapes are endless.
